In short: Please watch these old videos and enjoy, do not give modern Completionist your views or business. It used to be a heartfelt celebration of games, not a sanitized review series with a scam artist host. It used to be quality content made by two friends that cared about what they were doing, not corporate mush. If people stumble across this old content, then know that this is what the Completionist used to be. Now, why am I putting all this in a review? Because I want people who watch this to know full context (or at least what's available for context) to know why these reviews were removed, why they're the best thing to come out of that channel, and why Jirard is an untrustworthy liar and deceiver. Really, it's on Jirard for being a lying snake and not taking responsibility. So I don't fault Greg for not telling the truth. Greg still respected Jirard enough to not fully go into detail on what broke them apart, and it's hard to say if Jirard was pulling this scam while Greg was still working under him. Now, should Greg have come out about Jirard's criminal activities? Of course, but at the same time it's not that simple. We never learned fully what happened, but cutting ties with Jirard and having the videos removed was a smart idea. So, how is Greg the "hero" in this scenario? Simple, he cut ties with Jirard and never looked back. ![]() Because this is the internet, so "being rightfully called out for a crime=defamation/harassment". He also threatened to sue Karl and Mutahar for defamation. It wasn't until being confronted about it directly that Jirard finally said something and it took him NEARLY a month to put out a video respond, which was full of deflecting and denying responsibility. So Karl and Mutahar (from SomeOrdinaryGamers) did some digging and found about this decade long scam that Jirard and his company had been pulling. When confronted about it by Karl Jobst, Jirard and his team REFUSED to respond. Going back to the weird title of my review: The "snake" I'm referring to is Jirard, who had been doing a charity scam for over a decade. And since Greg left, things only got worse and worse beyond just the quality of the videos. Jirard basically brought in a bunch of random neckbeards to appear in his videos and the quality went down as a result. Jirard wasn't funny or charismatic on his own, meaning he couldn't really hold up the show as much without his co-star.Īny time he had other people on the show, they weren't really fun or bombastic either. Legit, that's a good straight man and funny man combo right there! So when Greg left the show for personal reasons that were never explained, it left a huge hole in the series that was never filled. ![]() Here we had a fun guy who sucks at games and a not-so-fun guy that's good at them. While Greg could be cringy at times, his bomastic energy really bounced off the more serious Jirard well at times. Let's be real, the old Completionist (AKA: the episodes above) were generally the best era of the show.
